As seasoned Water Sports fans, here at Osprey Action Sports we understand the importance of staying safe while out in the water. For some children, sea swimming can be daunting. When we saw that local engineering consultants, SDS, were looking for wetsuits to support their recent water safety campaign, we were keen to help out!

As part of a series of social value activities, the water safety classes were designed to help children get into, under and educated about the water. The programme, organised by the Plymouth Sound National Marine Park, has been running throughout August offering 80 places to disadvantaged children facing barriers to accessing the sea.

The open water safety lessons were delivered by local local swimming coaches, ACE Swimming in the beautiful area of Firestone Bay, Plymouth.

When the opportunity came for us to get involved in this project, we knew that Osprey would be the perfect fit. With such a strong focus on water sports, we're always keen to find ways to make them more accessible for all. We were able to donate 15 of our Osprey wetsuits to Services Design Solutions & Plymouth Children in Poverty to help children gain an understanding of how to stay safe when sea swimming.

It was an absolute delight for some of our team at Osprey Action Sports to be able to head down to Firestone Bay and see a class in action.  it was great to see our wetsuits donated to such a fantastic cause for the local community of Plymouth.
