Sustainability
Sustainability
Whilst we recognise here at Osprey that we are far from perfect and that there is much more work to do, throughout 2021 and 2022 we've incorporated several initiatives regarding ocean plastic waste and sustainability. Three years ago we made the decision to stop manufacturing polystyrene bodyboards in the interest of protecting UK beaches & oceans whilst also educating retailers & customers about the effects of these products on the ocean environment.
Recently, we have chosen to work closely and support a variety of sustainably focused businesses such as CleanHub to help reduce the amount of ocean bound waste across two continents. Our organisation has also created a Sustainability Committee, through which we have invested in the following initiatives.
- Solar panels to power our facilities & warehousing electricity needs at our HQ.
- Plug in electric vehicles for our sales team who travel regularly.
- Electric powered warehouse vehicles.
- A significant reduction in single use plastics in our product packaging.

Since 2022, we’ve been partnered with CleanHub to fund plastic recovery and protect our oceans globally.
Using plastic comes with a responsibility. In many cases, plastic is still the most viable option for packaging. However, we believe it is also our responsibility to take care of the waste generated by our activities. Through our partnership with CleanHub, we are able to act on that responsibility and invest in resilient waste management solutions around the world. We fund plastic recovery and support local communities in places such as India, Indonesia, Guatemala and Tanzania.
Through CleanHub’s verified trace and trace technology, every gram of plastic we recover is tracked from the moment it’s collected through to safe disposal. You can follow our journey and live collection updates by visiting our impact report here.
