Last week we were excited to announce the signing of international big wave surfer Tom Butler to Osprey and Urban Beach.
Since then some of the surfing world’s most popular magazines and news outlets have been getting the news out to their dedicated readership! We've had cracking UK coverage from the good folk at Carve Mag and Wavelength also picked up the news. Globally the news was posted via California based global surf reporting company Surf Wire.
This week Tom headed off to Portugal and will be based at the now infamous Nazare for much of the next 6 months, as he heads off in pursuit of the biggest waves ever ridden.
Closer to home, Tom’s exploits have made it into the local Cornish news. Tom’s involvement in the Joe Way Appeal as a Charity ambassador has helped to raise a great deal of money for the cause. Joe Way’s Dad, Matt, had this to say:
"We are stoked that Tom has signed this new deal as he heads out to Portugal to ride the biggest waves Europe has to offer. Tom has helped us raise over £125k over the last five years and we know how hard he works and we wish him and his new sponsors well hunting these monster waves this winter."
UK and European Surf, Skate and Snow Trade Magazine, Board Sport Source posted this video in their article about the arrival of Buttsy to the Osprey team:
We will of course keep you updated as to Tom’s big wave escapades via our website blog, and our associated social media pages, Osprey Facebook and Osprey Twitter.
