The 2014/2015 WSL Big Wave Awards honors the best performances of the year in surfing. From deep heavy tubes to monstrous wipeouts, during a yearlong window, submissions pour in from breaks around the world, including big wave hotspots Puerto Escondido, Nazaré, Jaws, Maverick's and more.

In big wave surfing, surfers work in pairs to tow each other in to the wave using a jet ski. Osprey Team Rider Tom Butler and German Big Wave Surfer Sebastian Steudtner work as a tow-in pair, towing each other onto massive slabs of water, usually at Nazaré in Portugal or Mully in Ireland, all in the name of catching the biggest wave in the world.
